Leskovac is the administrative, political, economic, educational and cultural hub of the Jablanica District. Leskovac is in the center of the Leskovac valley some 288 km to the south of the Capital City of Belgrade, by the highway E 75; 160 km to the north of Skopje. Leskovac valley covers an area of 2250 square kilometers. Leskovac is 225 m above the sea level. Leskovac Coordinates: North Geographical Latitude is 42° 59′ East Geographical Longitude is 21° 57′ Leskovac is surrounded by the mountains: Babicka Gora, Selicevica, Radan (1409 m), Kukavica (1441 m) and Cemernik (1638 m). Trough the Leskovac valley run a few rivers: South Morava, Veternica, Jablanica and Vlasina. The river of Veternica runs through the center of Leskovac. Municipality of Leskovac consists of 144 settlements, of which three are urban settlements: Leskovac, Grdelica and VuÄŤje.
